From 26 to 29 October 2008 Mr. Martin Davidson, Chairman and Executive Director of the British Council, paid an official visit to Uzbekistan. During his stay, there were organized meetings with Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Dr. Rustam Kasymov, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Vladimir Norov, Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education Mr. Azimjon Parpiev and Minister of Public Education Mr. Gairat Shoumarov. A wide spectrum of issues related to the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in education, science and culture were discussed.

The organizers of this unique project are the Fund «Forum of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan» and British NGO «Pro Art & Co» with the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in London and the British Council.

Photographic Exhibition “Uzbekistan – Past and Present, Places and Faces” » 17.09.2008

History of the art of photography in Uzbekistan began as early as in 1880s. From late 19th century till our days, different masters and talented enthusiasts reflected the glorious moments and everyday life of Uzbek people, creating the true artistic masterpieces. During this period, Uzbekistan has gone through fundamental historic changes that transformed the way of life and social aspects, urban landscape and economic infrastructure. At the same time, ancient traditions and rich cultural heritage are preserved and further developed.
